Last week, we celebrated the unveiling of the Stop the Hate Mural at MacArthur Park Elementary School. This vibrant and thought-provoking artwork is the culmination of a collaborative effort between lead artist Jasser Membrano, associate artist Kaya Arnoux, photographer Rafael Cardenas and a group of 25 talented LA Commons/CARECEN Youth Artists. This work was sponsored by Stop The Hate, a statewide initiative.
Earlier this year, the young artists gathered at MacArthur Park to collect stories about experiences with hate from the community and visions for Stopping the Hate. Their firsthand accounts served as inspiration for the mural's design. Together, they created a powerful and unified message against hate that is now prominently displayed at the school.
We are incredibly proud to have been part of this important initiative. The Stop the Hate Mural serves as a powerful reminder of the need for compassion, understanding, and unity in our community.
As we approach the upcoming election on November 5th, we encourage everyone to participate in the democratic process and make their voices heard. Your vote can help shape a future where hate and discrimination have no place.
